Hacks What to do to update correctly?

I have my Kindle 3 jailbroken and with some hacks like the screensaver and the foreign characters pad, but I'm interested in the features of the newest update.

What to do to update correctly? Can I run the update directly with all hacks and stuff done or should I "clean" the device first? In the first case, do I keep the hacks working? in any case, can I hack/jailbreak it again when I have the last firmware running?

Sorry if this have been posted already but I couldn't find the info. Thanks for your attention!

I can't answer all the questions. First, there is a new JAILBREAK in the Developer's forum that appears to work on 3.1

Next, if you install 3.1 with the hacks installed you will probably not be able to remove the ones you have installed. That MIGHT cause problems down the line, say if, Amazon releases 3.2. In older versions of Kindles, apparently, some jailbreaks prevented new Amazon upgrades. So you could get locked out. It is not certain but is possible.

Best course of action probably is to remove the old ones, install the new jailbreak and reinstall and hope all of the ones you've got continue to work that way.

I have read that the screensaver hack does continue to work under 3.1 if they are not removed prior to the upgrade. I really don't know about the other hacks you have installed.

In the new jailbreak thread there is discussion of whether the new one allows the removal of the old ones after 3.1 was installed over them. I'm not sure if the answers are clear yet. Check it out yourself and ask questions if necessary.
