When I save books in Calibre, it's taking leading "The"s and sticking them at the end, with a comma.

Is there any way to prevent this behaviour?

Preferences - Tweaks -

# Control sorting of titles and series in the library display

title_series_sorting = 'library_order'

Change to 'strictly_alphabetic'

Thanks very much! I got it to work by changing

# Control formatting of title and series when used in templates

My only issue with filenames now is that it saves series numbers as 1 not 01

I don't suppose there's any way to change that behaviour?

@dwanthny, Will that tweak apply the title change to all books in Calibre's library without any further action? Or will the change be applied only to books added to the library after the tweak is made?

I'm wondering if all the books have to be reconverted to epub after the tweak is made, in order for the title change to take affect on every book in the library...

Many thanks to the OP for posting this question. I've been interested in changing ' , the' in my ebook titles as well.

It doesn't apply a title change it changes the title sort for all future books. After the tweak is applied you can select all books, go to edit metadata, click update title sort then OK and all the title sort entries will be changed to meet your tweak.
