Sony and Kindle in calibre

Hi there

excuse my ignorance I want to get a Kindle 3 in addition to my Sony and would like to know 2 things

1) does calibre recognise a Kindle

2) If it does can you use both the Sony and Kindle on the same library

apologies if this has been asked before but couldnt find anything.

The other point is that you would need a Kindle compatible format of the ebooks in your library (e.g. Mobi). If the books are not DRM restricted then Calibre can do an epub to mobi conversion for you. You can have both an epub and a mobi format stored against the same book entry in Calibre, and Calibre will know which format to send to which device.
