I used to be able to get covers before but now every time I try to download a cover whilst entering metadata individually I continually get "No covers found". Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong please - I am using version 7.43. Thank you..Berni

Go to Preferences>Plugins, enter your username and password for librarything plugin (using Customize plugin button)

You could update to v0.7.45 to easily search for plugin. |

But you will still have problems, as Library Thing is throttling Calibre. So you have to do them one at a time, and after 2 - 4, take a break.

I finally just copied them from the Sony store (or Amazon or others) and imported them to Calibre. Look up the book, click on it, click on View Larger under the cover, Right Click and Save. Edit Metadata Individually in Calibre, select Browse, select the proper cover and you are good to go. More work, but the covers are the same size, and you can find a cover for pretty much everything. |

Did you know you can just drag drop covers direct from a web page onto (for instance) the cover shown in the book details panel on the right side of the screen in Calibre? Avoids the saving/browsing steps you mentioned...

Instead of saving the cover right click, choose copy image. Then right click on the current cover in the edit meta data window and choose paste image. That's a little easier than saving and navigating etc, etc.

Also - to get a (usually) bigger image from Amazon, and without the "look inside" or "kindle" image decals:

On the Amazon book page, right click (or ctrl+click for Mac SBM) and "open image in new tab". Go to the new tab, and you will see this: ![]() In the browser address bar, delete everything after the first "." up to the jpg extension like in the example below (part to be deleted is bold): "http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51JHwg95UTL._SL500_AA266_PIkin3,BottomRight,-16,34_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg" becomes "http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51JHwg95UTL.jpg" which, once you hit enter, will load this: ![]() Then you can either save the image or copy/paste to Calibre. Very helpful when large enough images can't be found elsewhere. Edited to add: The reason I mention this method is because those covers on Amazon with the zoom option no longer copy/paste properly most of the time because of the overlay. Although between FantasticFiction and Google Images I rarely need to resort to Amazon's ones. Those sites were the primary reason why I wrote the "Search the Internet" plugin. Incidentally I will shortly release a plugin that will get covers from Goodreads so keep an eye out for that in the plugins forum if you are interested. |

It is indeed a cool tip, I'm writing an Amazon cover download plugin to replace the LibraryThing one right now.
