Looking for 2.3.3 for DX US (B004)
Hello,
I tried to update my kindle DX after a looooong time not connecting it to 3G. My kindle is currently running 2.3.2 1) First odd thing is the DX said "Your download was not successful because your Kindle memory is full." Not sure what it was trying to download, I assume it was an update. 2) So I tried to update the firmware manually instead. I downloaded 2.5.7, put it in the Kindle. The "update" link was available in the settings menu, I clicked. The update started alright, but then stopped with a message that the update was not successful and restarted, and I am still on 2.3.2. I tried again, same outcome. So I figured it may help to install 2.3.3 first, but I haven't been able to find any link for the DX US... Would anyone happen to have that update somewhere? Thank you very much for any help! |

You don't need to upgrade from 2.3.2 to 2.3.3 if you want to get 2.5.7. The only prerequisite for 2.5.7 is that you're on at least 2.3 which you are.
How much free space do you have on your Kindle drive? |

Thanks for your answer -- Amazon says I don't need to upgrade to 2.3.3, but I just didn't manage to upgrade as is, it fails. I don't think it is a storage problem there's about 2Gb free space on the Kindle drive (that's what the Kindle says, but I also checked on my computer to be sure).
I don't know why the downloader was complaining about full memory, this is all very puzzling to me :-/ I would be very grateful for any insight! |
