creating comics or childrens books with calibre ?
my question would apply to childrens book creation
or even comic book creation, where there is no actual text on the page - the whole page being one that includes the illustration and text as one image file, so its pre designed already as a finished layout on a page Can i import png image files into calibre , one image per page, and make an epub book with it ? if not what image files can i import to make a picture book ? jpegs ? import the png into a word document, then into calibre, page by page and construct a book ? there's probably a simple answer but im a non techie artist i dont have adobe idesign, so no point in suggestiing i use that. I have a vector programe that can export in a number of formats , gif, jpegs, png for example thanks for any advice - cheers cheers Last edited by kii; 01-31-2011 at 11:38 AM. |

I've never tried creating a comic book from scratch, however, I've downloaded .rar files and converted them to Kindle in Calibre, so it should be possible.
Try this: Export your images in a form that can be placed into your word processing program, arranging them on the pages the way you want them to look. Save as either a .pdf or .doc (I have better luck with .pdfs), then convert it in Calibre. |

ok thanks ..its a plan ..
i dont have to bring in multiple images per page, that is already done in the graphic program, saved as one image - then that one image, is copy pasted into a word or a pdf file |

You might have a better response if you ask a Mod to move this thread to the Calibre forum.
