Two Accounts

Is it possible to install two separate accounts for Kindle fo PC on the one machine? Installation proces doesn't give a chance to nominate program location.

Not actually tried it but you should be able to do it with multiple user accounts under Windows/OSX. It doesn't keep anything with the actual program or installation data. All of the keys and data are kept individually per user.

\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Amazon\Kindle For PC\ is where it is for Windows 7 at least. You'll have to substitute \Documents and Settings for \Users in other versions.

I don't think you can have multiple Kindle accounts in a single Windows/OSX user however. Not without constantly swapping files around in the user data area.

Switching (via registering and de-registering) between different accounts works on Kindle for PC just like it does on a Kindle device, except you can only open and read the books K4PC is currently registered to. If you want to open one downloaded from an account you aren't currently registered into, just go to the options page, de-register and register to the account from which it was purchased, and it will open.

The only quirk is that your K4PC "Home" page will show all the books together, without separating them by account.

As with the Kindle device, the archive page will only show the books on the account you're currently registered into.
