Finding free titles on Amazon
I found out that putting -public in the search on Amazon's Kindle section turns up lots of good free titles. Put a dash and then the word public. I have absolutely no idea what it means but it turns up lots of free stuff in all genres.
Obviously, you can search any genre and sort by price but this exposes free books in all catagories without having to specify a genre. One weird thing .... even when you sort by price in this search, there is the occasional non-free book mixed in with all the free ones. Just pay attention to the prices before you one-click anything. |

And I think the ones with prices used to be freebies but the sale has expired. |

That's exactly right. I usually use "-domain", but as far as I know it does the same thing.

Aha! Makes perfect sense. Thanks! I originally saw it on a link from a blog that had lots of other characters in the search for something specific. When I eliminated the rest of the search, I found the -public was a good way to browse the freebies.

Oh, that's handy!
I wish the Sony Reader store had a similar feature. |

Another way to get the Top100 free is from Amazon.com to do Kindle Store... Bestseller.
The free ones are the column on the right side. Might include apps. |
