How to Use a Gift Card with Amazon 1-Click?

Hi all.

I've got Amazon 1-Click set up and it's great--when I want to use it. I want to use a gift card to make a purchase, but I can't figure out how to use any other payment options. I've turned off the 1-Click feature; logged out; cleared my cache--all of the typical steps. But when I look at the item I want to purchase the only button available is is "Preorder with 1-Click."

NNNNOOOOOO! I want to preorder with a gift card!!!!

So frustrating! Is there a way around this?

Go into My Account, scan down about half-way and find the two Gift Card options (view balance, add card). Pick either one and enter your gift card after logging in.

i believe the preorder still requires a credit card on the account in the event that the gift card funds are not sufficient at the time the order completes (they dont take the funds out when you first preorder). but they wont use the credit card if there are funds still in the gift card when the order completes.
