Can I delete the memorized authors list in the metadata screen?

In the medata, on the authors memorized list, there are book names, in addition to authors and different formats for the same author's name, so I wonder if it is possible to delete either selected authors (or whatever) or if that is not possible, the whole list.

That's not a "memorized" list - that is the list of actual author names you have in your Calibre database

You might want to rename authors using the Tag Viewer on the left side of the screen, either directly in the tree or using the "Manage Authors" dialog available via the right-click menu there to clean up your data.

Thanks kiwidude. There was a lot of poorly named authors (some were actually titles) in my library. Fixing the way you said it made it much easier to organize everything, plus I ended up fixing something else that was bugging me. It is amazing how Calibre is becoming more and more powerful and flexible.
