Firmware Update New Update 2.5.7 for Kx2, DX, and DXG

Finally a new update for us old K2, Dx, and DXG users. Don't know exactly what it does but my page refresh rates on my DXG seem a little faster.

From what I can see on the Amazon page, they've added 2 more font sizes and the social networking from the 3.0.X version on the Kindle 3. There will be some unhappy people with KDXGs that are waiting for improvements to PDF handling to match the K3

Your update will fail if you have the hacks installed... You need to remove them and then upgrade... and then the hacks may not work again

If you have the jailbroken versions of the hacks installed, you do not need to remove them. If you have older versions that are not jailbroken, they must be removed before updating.

Well I put it on my DX, but it doesn't seem to have done anything significant. It does seem to have the bigger typeface, but the pageturns seem the same, the clarity of the type seems the same, the browser seems the same (still no Article mode, too bad). I had 2.5.3 before this, if that matters.

Really angry about Amazon

Everyone's waiting for a new firmware update to include the K3 PDF features but Amazon kicks your ass with that update.

No update at all would be no change but this update.

That's how they handle customers buying their premium reader...

They won't see any more bucks from me until they did it right.

I tried a pdf that's print was a little on the light side and it now looks a lot better (little darker/bolder). Otherwise, the same features.

Some improvement is better than none I guess!
