Automating news delivery

Hi all

I am very new to this getting my first kindle for christmas. However I really do like it and was recomended Calibre.

I can get the software to download the news automattically but I can only get it to forward it to my device by manually clicking on the downloaded news and sending it by e-mail.

I have ticked the box asking for news to be sent to the device.

how do I automate the e-mailing of the news?

thanks

No hat Jim

Check out Preferences - Sharing books by email.

Also check out your Kindle documentation. Any email address sending to your Amazon account has to be listed in your account area as an authorized sender.

Hi

thanks for the response. I have checked the settings and everything seems to be setup. If I click on say bbc news and manually tell it to send to device it does but it isn't happening automatically when a news feed is updated.

thanks

I send using a gmail account (I tried using a compuserve acct and failed). I had to add that gmail account to the acceptable acct's using ManageMyKindle. You picked a time and scheduled it and you left your computer on and Calibre running? Have you turned on your kindle and allowed it to connect - my stuff downloads only after I wake my k3 up.

Hi nohatjim,
Have you had any luck yet with getting the news downloads to deliver via email while running calibre on your WHS?
I have been contemplating doing the same thing - just so i can automate the news download & email without having to leave calibre running on a laptop or desktop.
After installing calibre on your WHS did you configure the calibre exe to 'run as a service' or are you simply leaving calibre running & leaving the WHS always logged on?
Cheers
Nick

Yes it is working fine. I haven't got round to installing it as a service. I tend to leave my homeserver logged in and locked
