DRM EPUB files on Ipad
I have IPAD wifi 3G and want to transfer Public Library DRM protected EPUB (Ebooks) onto Ipad. Was told by library that Adobe Digital Editions loaded on myWindows 7 machine is supposed to be able to sync to Ipad and transfer these DRM protected files to ipad but the software does NOT recognize my ipad. Apple technical help told me to use Copia. Unfortunately Copia is only available from US Itunes store and NOT available in Canada.
Any suggestions? |

I have not used it for library books myself, but I understand Bluefire Reader supports ADE. I am not sure if it is available in Canada, though.

however Bluefire (and maybe Stanza) do work with ADE DRM ebooks. You will have to transfer the ebook files over to iPad by alternative methods such as email or iTunes. Take a look at this page on how to do that. http://www.bluefirereader.com/help/libraryBooks.html (I haven't tried it myself, but I don't see why it wouldn't provided ebook DRM is in expected format) |

Use Bluefire Reader. It is free for the iPad/iTouch/iPhone and works better than the Overdrive App. Much easier to use. You can also email those .acsm files from your Overdrive download to your iPad email account and then add them to Bluefire. Make sure to authorize Bluefire Reader first to work with Adobe Digital Editions.

If you go to this thread - "Bluefire Reader app" - you can see where not only can you use Bluefire reader app to get the books, you can use Safari to download the books right into Bluefire (no e-mailing required). See the whole thread, but [not to highlight my own posts, but...] in #392 of that thread, you details on how to make a bookmarklet in Safari.
It works great! Marilyn |
