Please help me choose a cover for my nookcolor

I received a nookcolor for Christmas and would like to purchase a pink cover for it. I am not opposed to buying it from a third party retailer but I am not sure if they support the nookcolor speakers in the back.

The only major thing that I am looking for is the ability to be able to fold over the cover so that I can lay it flat. (bi-fold)

These are the covers I am considering:

http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Colo...?cds2Pid=36174 least favorite choice

http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Dess...?cds2Pid=36174

http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Mont...?cds2Pid=36174 my leading choice

Please help me decide. If you know anything about these covers that would help. I went to the Barnes and Noble store today and they only had the field cover but not in pink. I wasn't crazy about the fabric but I did like the fact that it folded over.

Please take it easy on me... this is my first post.

Thank you and happy new year.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your nookcolor. Almost everyone here LOVES this device! Most of us have "rooted" it for more capabilites, but it's a great gadget as is, great for reading, surfing the web, listening to music and watching videos.

I have the Leather Writer cover (http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Leat...?cds2Pid=35616), which I'm totally happy with.

It has some similarities to all the covers on your list, including the recess for the speaker, and the clip system for holding the nookcolor in place. I prefer this clip system to the types with elastic or straps. I also like leather over fabric, which your second and third choice also have. It looks like you prefer a brighter color cover than the Leather Writer. I'm not a fan of the "nook n" on the cover of the second book, but that's just me.

I would vote for your choice 3 for the aforementioned reasons.

As an alternative, and if you don't mind the expense (I know they are pricey, but you do get what you pay for), you can choose an oberon cover. See:

http://www.oberondesign.com/shop/car...duct_list&c=83

They are absolutely gorgeous, extremely well made, sturdy and VERY well protective of your device, AND they can be folded back. I have the Red Sky Dragon for my Nook Color and the Green Avenue of Trees for my Sony PMS-700, and I have never regretted the extra expense. But...that is just IMHO.

I have the second one and it doesn't fold back on itself, which you mentioned wanting. Other than that, I like it, though, and it's a very pretty pink.

:-( I just realized that the cover I purchased for my Nook Color covers the speaker.

Wow... I can't express how much I appreciate all the posts so far. I stumbled across these boards and they have already been so helpful!

Does anyone know if my leading choice, the Montgomery cover, folds back?
Is there anyone possibly on the boards who has one and can tell me if they like it?

I looked at many covers at BN and liked the feel of this one. Inside feels like soft leather. The front and back are magnetic and hold together when u fold all the way back. I know its not the pink u prefer but it is nicer than the ones u have listed.

I bought this one, the black, faux-leather Lautner:

My local store didn't have much of a selection. Getting screen protectors proved even more difficult. The store didn't have those either, so I bought WriteRights meant for the iPad and cut one down to size.

That's nice. I've only seen the images of the brown one. Always wondered if it's available in black. I have the Writer's Cover which I'm happy with. I may have to treat myself to this one as well.

I've been looking for a cover myself. I'd prefer to stay under $15-$20 though at the most. If I'm going to spend more than that, I'd probably get one of the Oberon covers. I put my hands on one of their journals at a medieval store...man...so nice.

I may end up using my wife's old Kindle 2 case, but it is a little loose for my liking.

I've got an etsy hard cover w/ Velcro and an m-edge sleeve for my e-ink Nook and I've been happy with those.

I bought the B&N Industriell Easel Cover straight away, and I love it when I need to prop it up somewhere to keep both hands free. However, since my hands are small, I've realized I need it "uncovered" if I want to easily do one handed reading---where my thumb can reach the screen to swipe---so I've just bought a sleeve to use for commuting.

I returned my initial cover after the first night.....I knew I needed something different....since I like to read in bed, and didn't want to have to hold it...

http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/sear...=9781616837181

I like it, it's perfect for me while laying in bed......It doesn't say it, but it works in portrait fashion too....It has a pocket inside where I store my cleaning cloth....
Probably could have gotten it cheaper online somewhere, but I wanted immediate protection (also go the anti-glare protector)

I wonder if they make a charger with a right angle connector....that would be the perfect addition...

Your first two choices are pretty similar. Both are leather. The Dessin cover has a nice inner pocket if you want something like that, while Montgomery just has a plain, soft interior. I wish I could comment on color, but we haven't gotten Montgomery in that shade yet. The Dessin one is very bright.

The Color Field covers are nice (I LOVE ORANGE!!), but they DO attract dirt with the fabric cover. We've moved our demo covers around to try and prevent it, but one does have a small smudge.

Personally, I like the Montgomery ones because of the plain interior (won't be tempted to fill it with stuff that could damage the nook!) and the strap to keep it closed.

Good luck!
