Smile False Start but undeterred!
I bought my wife an IRiver Story EReader Story for Xmas that despite many attempts could not get it to authenticate with Digital Editions as per the instruction manual. No online support to help out as was the case for my Skycaddie GPS. So returned to the shop with it today to be told "a number had been returned". So first time unlucky and we will be replacing with another brand possibly the Amazon Kindle learning from others more positive experience?

I had many problems with an IRiver mp3 player. I ended up taking it back and buying an IPod instead but it was a costly exercise which destroyed a lot of photos I had on my computer and also my usb port. Maybe I just bought a dud because the brand seems popular enough but it left a sour taste in my mouth and I don't intend to give IRiver a second chance even if they switch to making plastic buckets.

Good luck with your e-reader choice. I have a Kindle and love it.

Thanks for the advice. Having spent the last hour or so researching I am tending towards the Kindle as it seems to fit the bill.
