Kindle 3G/Wifi Calibre News feed question

I am pondering purchasing either the kindle wifi or the kindle 3g+wifi. I would like to read both the wsj / nytimes / economist on the way to work. I don't have the time to turn on my computer and connect the kindle every morning to get the news. Can calibre software download the news for me automatically and email it to me at my kindle address every morning without turning on my computer? That would require calibre to run a server job for me.

You might get better answers in either the Kindle forum or the Calibre forum. I am using Calibre to download certain periodicals overnight and it does automatically forward them to my wifi k3. I am not sure if the ones you've mentioned need separate subscriptions to work - they may.

when you download periodicals overnight - does that mean you keep your computer or laptop on?

what do you mean by separate subscriptions? subscriptions to the periodical online content?

Yes, the computer must remain ON for the download to Calibre first, and then the emailing of the periodical to your kindle.

When I tried downloading NYT, I get an error. I believe you need some kind of subscription key or whatever. But that is what I am not sure of and it can probably be answered in the Calibre forum.

I got 4 overnight.
