Questions about table of contents with PDF

Hey, so I just got a Kindle for Christmas like I am sure many new posters are here. Anyways, this thing to COOL. I have read the manual, looked at some tips and tricks, but there is one thing I just cannot wrap my head around. I have this PDF book (and I have tried converting it using Calibre) but for the life of me the table of contents won't stay in the book. I have attached an image, when I view it in Acrobat without any modificationsm I can see the chapters. Just wondering if there is something I am missing:
