SD Card not being recognised

I bought my Pocketbook Pro 902 last week and opened it for Christmas (gift to myself

).

However I see that I put in a Micro SD 8GB card into the slot but no recognition on either the ereader or on my computer. Am I doing something wrong or is it a reader hardware problem?

Any one with similar issues?

Not to state the obvious, but are you sure the card has been inserted correctly? I'm not familiar with a 902, but some readers have you insert the card in way that seems back to front from the way you would insert it in a card reader. Which brings up another question: do you have a card reader, camera, or other device you can put the card in and then connect to your PC to see if the card itself is OK?

Toss the card directly onto your computer and see if you can format it.

Yes tried with the PC. Working and formatting fine. Reading fine. But when in the Pocketbook, it does not recognise or I do not understand how the ereader should recognise. In the File menu, it does not show up.

The card is inserted with the "gold teeth" going in frst and the the gold teeth should be facing upward. The card goes i ant attaches with a distinct "click". You need to click again to loosen it.

Still no luck...

Again, I don't have a 902. But on my Pocketbook 360, the card shows up under Books in the menu. I've named the card so I know which file it is, and also there is a little icon that tells me whether it is on the SD card or in the main memory. My IQ is similar, the library is set to folder mode and shows the main memory as one folder, and the card as another. For the 360, the gold teeth go in first and away from the screen. For the IQ, it's teeth first and towards the screen. Both click into place.

If the PC can see the card and it formats, it would seem the card is good. And if it's clicking into place (without being forced, of course), it seems it's being inserted properly. Maybe there's something else in the menu options? I think the IQ had to be set to folders in the library menu before I could see the card on the device--I could always see it from the PC. Maybe try (gently) turning the card over? Teeth first and downward? Don't force it, but see if it goes in that way.

That is exactly how it works on my 902. There have been posts in other threads where people with class 2 cards were having trouble. Mine is class 6, and works fine in the reader. When I insert it, the hourglass icon comes up as the new file structure is probed. Under library>files, you should see "SD Card" with a sold check mark next to it in the upper left. If the check mark is hollow, then select it and press the OK button to enable it.

There were so many preloaded books on my device that I had trouble finding what was on the card. Disabling "Device" in the upper left removed all the stuff on the internal card from the lists, making it easy to find the books on my micro SD card.

I am having the exact same problem. I put the SD card in gold teeth up, and it clicks in but doesn't show up. It shows up on the computer however and I have loaded pdf files on it, but they don't show up on the e-reader itself.

Did you manage to fix your problem?
