You know, I'm feeling doubtful. When the Vampire Huntress series first hit I was in love! I loved the characters, I loved having a female black hero, and I loved the diversity shown throughout the novels. I devoured them. Then I noticed that she started repeating the same formula over and over again in each book. I think I stopped at The Wicked. It was getting harder and harder to get past those first 100 pages with each book.

One of my friends told me that it gets better a few books down the line, but I'm still in a holding pattern. I might pick up an e-copy of The Bitten, though. It was my favorite so far.

I can understand.

I just read it. If you don't like the slang or the immense mixture of paranormal powers then it may not be for you. However, this is like her 43rd book, so she's improved a lot since her first few books. This is the kids version and I have to admit I was impressed. I didn't read all of the Vampire Huntress series, but have read some of her other works here and there.

The $3.99 price is actually a steal for the quality of the writing and the depth of the story. Read her free chapters and see if you like it.
