Can Susquehanna be considered 'English'?
Isn't it an American Indian name? Not sure what nation or language, but I always assumed it was Native American.

I had to look up Susquehanna, and Firefox puts a squiggly line under it, so I'm not sure I'm buying it as a word, grin.
I don't know about beautiful words, but I have some favorites that I enjoy working into stories. Inveigled is at the top of that list. ![]() |

I love the sound of Susquehanna, but I'm afraid it always brings to mind a childhood filled with Abbott and Costello movies, and the routine about the Susquehanna Hat Company. ("Susquehanna?!? Susquehanna ?!!!! My brother was killed wearing a Susquehanna Hat!! If he'd been wearing a decent hat when that piano fell on him out of that third-storey window, he might be alive today!!")
Rather takes the gloss off the word. ![]() |

I have always loved "Gossamer". I don't think I have ever encountered it used in a negative way.
It has always felt happy, beautiful, and well, just shiny. ![]() |

I recall reading somewhere that the least pleasant word in English was 'crotch'. And a runner up was 'gulch'
