Is this battery life normal?

This is for the nook Classic.

It seems like my battery is draining super fast, and I'm trying to figure out if it is normal. I had a full charge Sunday morning and by late last night (Monday) it was almost gone. I had wi-fi off for a few hours on Sunday but then turned it on to make a purchase and didn't turn it back off again. I read 3-4 hours a day on Sunday and probably about the same on Monday with it going into Standby in between reading sessions (they were mostly 20 minutes here and there).

Is this typical for the battery or does this sound defective? Do I just need to keep it in airplane mode? I've only had it about a week so would like to exchange it if this seems too short.

Sounds about normal to me with WiFi left on. Most of us will keep the Nook in airplane mode and just turn WiFi on as needed.

also check the brightness on your lcd screen, try to bring it down to about 20%.

Same question, different usage.
I use my nook about 8 hours a day, in airplane mode the whole time. Battery lasts 2, maybe 3 days, is that normal? I just bought it about a month ago.

In response to some other comments I found, when I got it home, I plugged it in, and didn't touch it again until it was fully charged (took a lot of willpower tho).

That sounds about right to me.

This is about the same as I am getting, even with WiFi off (i.e. airplane mode ON). I kept close track of it once and with 4 hours of reading, airplane mode on, it went from 100% charge to about 50%. So, if you are like me and charge it when it is down to about 25%, you only get about say 6 or 7 hours of reading.

Of course, maybe I should be getting better battery usage too. But somehow I don't think so.

I get 4-5 days with airplane mode on, LCD options on minimum settings, reading about 2 hours per day.

I get about a week to 10 days with airplane mode on, reading about 2-3 hours a day. I don't spend a lot of time browsing around on it, just reading, so the LCD is mostly off when I use it. I noticed a little while back that I was gradually losing battery life, needing to charge up twice a week instead of just once. I bought a new battery at B&N and that solved it. I'd had it for just about a year.
Have you tried rebooting your nook? Since it's a computer, there's always the chance that a hung application or other issue in the background is what's draining your battery.
Also, the percentage display for the battery seems to go down very quickly, and then hang out under 20% for a good long while. When I try to intentionally run it all the way down I still get a couple of hours of reading (two hundred or so page turns) after the "you should plug in your nook" warning.

That's interesting. I agree that it seems to drop awfully quickly (especially in the mid-range, like from 35 to 25%). Seems that I should not be so quick to charge when it gets down to about 25%.
