Audio Books

I load an audio book, listen to part of it, pause it, read some in an ebook, then attempt to return to the audio book, it starts back at the beginning. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong, or is it a lost cause?

I have never used the audio on my Nook as I use my phone for audiobooks, but from what I have heard the player is very basic. It probably doesn't have a bookmarking option. That is just my guess.

Yes, I've heard the same thing about lack of bookmarking.

That is what I encountered also. I"m hoping to be able find a nice audio book ap that will bookmark and allow speed control once I have it rooted.

I guess that is what I'll do, too. Though, wouldn't you think an ereader with music capability would have had an audio app with bookmark control!

My Kindle 3 bookmarks itself, but you must select the current track. I have a great ap on my I-phone named "Speedup" that allows adjustable speed control of one or all tracks, indexing, bookmarking, etc. It removes dead spaces between words and speeds up playback up to 25% wtihout much distortion. I'm sure such is available in the Android market once I have the courage to root.

audible is owned by Amazon, something tells me it's not a supported format

hmmm.. audible has an android app so why wouldn't it work on the NC? You can run the Kindle app on android too no?

Audible has an Android app - it's in the Market (and free) so if you're a member of Audible, AND rooted, you should be able to play Audible content on the NC

if it's rooted, then you should be ok but not in a general sense though.

are you (OP) using audible on a rooted NC and experiencing the issue with unusable bookmarks?

emt Nameless Being	Correct Me If I'm Wrong But.... Audible has an Android app - it's in the Market (and free) so if you're a member of Audible, AND rooted, you should be able to play Audible content on the NC
