Changing id on nook, adobe, and B&N
I need to change my email address at B&N. I tried doing so, but then my nook can't pick up books. Okay, so I thought I'd change my email address on the nook, but realized that this email address is the same as the email address on my Adobe Digital Editions on my computer and is my Adobe ID. So basically, I guess I need to change my Adobe email address, and then reauthorize my laptop and nook.
It seems to me that I need to start by changing my email address at Adobe, but I don't know if this actually makes my new email address my new Adobe ID. If it is, how do I reauthorize my laptop and my nook with this new Adobe ID? Since the main thing I use Nook for is downloading library books, I need to do this correctly. I found partial answers to this issue at Adobe, but the answers didn't directly address reauthorizing my laptop and nook, and I'm afraid to do anything without advice from this forum. |

Adobe and B&N addresses are unrelated (except with NOOKstudy). There is no need to fuss with Adobe.
To change your B&N e-mail address:

As far as Adobe goes, the email address that you use for access is just your identifier for the account. You can change it without reauthorizing your computers and devices such as NOOK. They're authorized to the account itself, not to its email address. Just remember to use the new email address when you go to download your next Adobe-DRMed e-book.

Still confused

At one time, I downloaded a book to a different computer, and was unable to drag and drop it, getting the message that the book was checked out by a different user. If I change my address at B&N, and at Adobe, unregister the Nook, attach it to the laptop, and reregister it, all will work properly? Thank you again. |

Okay, I figured that this had to be simpler than it seemed to me. So, I started perusing the menus on the nook itself and figured out how to unregister and reregister. That part worked, and the laptop saw the Nook and authorized the Nook, so I'm going to download a book from Overdrive and be sure that all works as it should.
Sorry for the denseness, but I was confused. |
