any new firmware on the prs 650 since launch?

was hoping the ghosting (happens a lot) will get better and less often.

If the ghosting is serious enough to be annoying and affect your usage then it sounds more like your unit may be faulty so try a warranty/replacement claim or it may be that you are one of a few people who just can't take the normal ghosting of some units (and there are some in this category), in which case you may need to consider an alternative reading route and get your money back.

I think that the ghosting might be tied to specific devices and you should try getting your device exchanged. I've looked for ghosting on my 650 ever since I read about it hear and can't find the slightest trace of it, even when the previous page had a picture with lots of dark areas.

The only time I notice any ghosting is when I turn off and show my custom black screen, then I often see faint pale lines where text had been displayed. So far it has not proved to be a problem while actually using the device.

What I want a new firmware release for is to address the user interface issues that should have been resolved before release (this is not a first generation product). Such things as more finely adjustable font size. Even better - a very simple test when looking for epub css files: if <user-accessible-location/epub-default.css> exists then use that css file, otherwise resort to the internal defaults. So simple, just a couple of lines of code and suddenly users get control over the default display characteristics of their books.

I'd also like to see them fix the epub viewer to support background texture images but that's a different story and, I imagine, more difficult.
