PM questions

first, why do we have to wait between sending PM messages? sometimes when I first log on, I have 8 or 9 messages, and having to wait in between sending responses gets really long.

second, why are we limited in our storage number?

What is the wait time, KK? (I don't send PM's that much, so I've never come across it)

I suspect though, like a few things around the background, the wait is probably related to spam. One of the spam things we deal with is PM-spam (which is also why the "!" Report button appears top-right on each PM). The problem with PM spam is that I don't think we can remove it from everyone's PM inboxes, assuming a spammer has gone nuts. So, if the delay exists, it limits the spread before someone reports it and we shutdown the spammer.

I'd guess the second is just about limiting share of total resources, though I don't really know. I can ask though (I'll Report your post... see what the folks out the back say).

The small delay between sending two PMs is to prevent potential spammers from sending lots of messages very quickly, by means of automated spam tools. I can see that this may be annoying for some, and I'll do some changes so that the delay is significantly reduced for members who are with us for a longer time.

A limit is required mainly for performance reasons. But it's possible to increase the current limits; we'll go over them next and adjust them accordingly.

I promise, it has nothing to do with how you dress.

PM storage has been doubled & time required between sending two PMs has been halved.
