question about client service
I've recently purchased the Kindle 3 and I'm really very happy with it, but I have one question: Before this I had a Cybook, which also works with mobipocket, and I transferred all my books to the Kindle. Therefore, at least for now, I will not be buying many books from Amazon. I've read a lot about the great client service of Amazon, replacement of the Kindle in case it breaks or things like that, but will this also be the case if you don't buy any (or hardly any) ebooks from Amazon?

Yes! I don't buy many books from Amazon and all my CS experiences have been superb.

You can have 0 Amazon Kindle store books on your account and they'll still treat you the same as if you were somebody who had hundreds. They support you loading in your own personal documents to the Kindle so it is accepted that you may not have any bought items. It isn't necessary to pretend or anything like that
