I'm a self confessed geek but new to ebooks
Hello everyone.

My name is John Winstanley and I'm a construction project manager and cost consultant living and working in Yorkshire, UK. I'm 43, married and have 2 sons aged 9 and 4.

I'm a huge technology fan, I run OS X, Widows 7 and 2 Linux distros on my 2010 MacBook Pro. I love my iPhone 4 also.

Whilst I like the iPad I'm not willing to pay £500 for one and really wanted an ebook reader I can use outside.

Just got my Kindle 3 on Saturday and I love it.

Looking forward to chatting to you all.

I am a self procliamed techie myself and have open hostility towards Apple and all of their products becuase of their proprietary nature of their products. I am simply unwilling to buy into any technology that is proprietary in nature. On might argue that book readers are proprietary as well, however they do read the epub format, that is hardly proprietary.
