Backup PRS 500 books

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to use calibre to backup-extract the books I have in my Sony Reader PRS 500 with old firmware, in the internal memory. I have many books there that I dont want to lose.
Thanks a lot.

Use a version of calibre older than 0.6.29 then calibre will be able to connect to the device and get books from it.

Hi, thanks for this great piece of software. I tried the version 0.6.29 and I am getting an unhandled exception, may be is because I installed first the Sony software that came with the prs, so I uninstalled the sony software and installed the calibre driver in the installation folder tree but still get the exception

you also need to install the prs500 driver in the drivers sub folder of the calibre installation.

Sounds like you are trying to use a calibre metadata database for a current version of calibre with an older version of calibre - this will fail.

this may be right I first installed the latest version of Calibre and then uninstalled and installed 0.6.29. may be I have to remove manually the metadata database?
