Converting PDF fails
hey there,
I recently tried to print a file from OpenOffice.org Writer 3.1.1 through CUPS' Generic PS filter. I got a PostScript and converted it to PDF via ps2pdf. Everything's fine so far, but when I send the PDF (see attachment) to amazon's converter, I only receive get an empty page at my kindle. Perhaps somebody has an idea or already some experience, why this fails. (Exporting a PDF from OOo is no alternative, as I wrote a backend for cups to automagically push printouts to my kindle) best regards, garfieldus |

Get rid of the PDF step. Converting anything from PDF is a crap shoot. Your best bet is to save the file in HTML format from OO Writer and then use Calibre to convert it.

That's an interessting behaviour which probably occurs when OOo prints something.
Thanks a lot for your help! |
