Question re Nook Color screen

I've got a simple question: Is the Nook color screen (the backlit LCD screen) the same as the iPad's except smaller?

If not, what's the difference?

I think it might be slightly higher res, but it should be very much like the iPad screen which is fantastic to read on.

I think the iPad also uses an LG IPS panal, as does the Nook, resolutions are slighty different, both are and should be fantastic to look at. Bot to answer your question, yes they both use the same back lit LCD tech

The iPad is obviously bigger, but I don't know about pixel density or anything. I can tell you however, that the nook is a beautiful device and the screen is great. Both for books and magazine, the latter are amazing. Also, PDF's display very well which was one of the reasons I bought the NC.

The Nook Color has a slightly lower resolution(*) screen than the iPad at 1024x600 (compared to 1024x768). However, the screen is so much smaller so the resulting picture is sharper.

As already stated, they are both using essentially the same screen technology.

(*) Resolution is the number of actual dots you can draw.
