Australasian bookseller to increase digital presence
Red Group have decided to move further into digital to improve sales figures.
http://bookbee.net/book-retailer-red...ound-43m-loss/ This might be a good thing for Aussie ebook readers BUT as long as it is coupled with removal of geographic restrictions. Might be a move in the right direction though. |

Red Group owns (along with several other companies) a minority % of Kobo, with Canadian Company Indigo owning 58%.

Their range is definitely improving. Sadly they won't have Hachette signed in time for the new release Wheel of Time book (tomorrow)!
There is still some room for the prices to move though, considering the international market. Many of their books are around $12.50AUD/$15NZD which is still high given the exchange rates (for books that are $8USD equivalent). Still, at least they're cheaper than NZ/Aus MMP prices! |
