Silly Hint of the Day

I noticed that if I tried to page forward, occasionally I would highlight a word, or several words, instead of paging forward. Occasionally, same thing would happen paging back. So, I experimented with swiping downward, from top to bottom, to turn pages forward. If you combine those two motions, you have a diagonal motion.

So now when I page forward, I swipe diagonally in a motion approximately from the right upper corner toward the left lower corner. Page back: Lower left to upper right. It works great and does not mistakenly highlight/select words. Of course, I don't mean to swipe the entire length from the top right to bottom left (or vise-versa)...just swipe in that direction, anywhere on the screen. Give it a shot.

I had that problem, too; now I use a small diagonal swipe in one of the lower corners to turn pages.

I will give it a try to see if it helps with the problem. Thanks, jlbfoot!

I had that problem too, so now I swipe over the battery icon or in an area with white space (between paragraphs or in the margin).

Thank you for solving that occasional quirk. I couldn't work out what I was doing differently when text became highlighted.

anyone have a silly hint for clicking/double-clicking (which is it, anyway?) a word to bring up the dictionary? I can do it with the stylus, but whenever I try with my finger, I either get the wrong word, a page turn, or nothing happens.
