eBook readers in China
Hi, all,
I am living in China, and I very much want to purchase an ebook reader. However, options like the Kindle are prohibitively expensive here. I wondered if anyone might be familiar with any of the various Chinese manufacturers and could recommend one that makes solid products. I am particularly wondering if there are any "hidden gems" to be found in the Chinese ebook market…I see so many different devices being used, it seems that there is an incredible diversity of them to choose from here! The Hanlin V3+ (翰林 v3+) has come up in my searches as being available domestically and being durable, and it is relatively inexpensive at ~US$150. There are also options like the aiboox readers that I can't find information about anywhere. I am interested in economy, mostly…would prefer to purchase a relatively inexpensive reader that is well built. A small screen and lack of features is OK by me. Thanks very much for the help! ![]() Last edited by El Macho; 10-20-2010 at 07:49 AM. |

How much does a Kindle cost in China?
I have no knowledge of Chinese e-readers. Just curious. |

Up until recently a wifi model has been $200+. There are cheaper ones available (~$150), but they are either fake or stolen…the sellers tell you that they can't be registered with Amazon.
