Lightbulb SC Is it really so light? (34 g)

The link below is webpage that explains Sony's new ereader yet to be launched.

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921666258035

A few questions:
1. Is it really that light? 34 grams?
2. How about the contrast of screen compared to kindle?
3. When is it expected to be released?
4. Expected price of this model?
5. Good for academic pdfs?

Please reply if anyone is updated about this.

34 grams ??!

In the description it says 9.6 ounce which is approximately 270 grams. I suspect they've made some kind of mistake with the specifications page.

The battery alone will weigh more than that Yes, the specs are all out of sorts, especially considering it's 'only 2.3" thin'

Under the 950 Specifications go to the the Manual which gives the correct specifications. All the previous "approximately" specs were way off. The 950 according to the User Manual is less than 1/2" thick.

Anybody else notice the 950 does not seem to have a readily replaceable battery like the 900? I am probably one of few who actually bought a spare, but it was after Sony discontinued them and B&H Photo marked them down to $10.

950 has the same battery as the 900. Why is it not "readily replaceable"?

I'm not talking about previous approximate ones. Up until now the specifications tab was not even there, only features tab was, so to put up the new tab and get the specs on it completely wrong is a bit disturbing to me.

My guess is there's no battery door. The user manual has the following paragraph in it:
Quote:
The built-in rechargeable battery of the Reader is recyclable. Do not remove the battery yourself, consult Sony Support Center

I may have spoken too soon since I don't have a 950 in my greedy little hands yet, but in skimming the user guide for the 950, I could not find anything about the user being able to change the battery. I believe this is clearly illustrated in the 900's guide.
