I downloaded the official copy and my Kindle said that I did not need to update. So I am guessing that the beta was also the official.

Yeah it won't let me update either, I guess there was no changes.

It's probably my imagination, but the text looks a bit lighter on my K3 after the update.

I just downloaded the update (or uploaded the update?). Funny. I was thinking the text looked smaller (or maybe it's my imagination). I think page turning is faster.

Hard to say...browser seems faster... but I hardly ever use it, but WHOA! The NYTimes just loaded immediately! Darn. Now I have a multifunctional device! Just what I did not want!

I was under the impression that updates were automatically downloaded and applied, but the link above talks about downloading to a computer then transferring via USB. Will it automatically update, or is the only way to get the update to apply it manually?

It's my understanding that you can download the update immediately via usb or if you choose to wait, the OTA rollout would take some time to get to everyone.

So if you wait for over-the-air, it may take a few weeks to get it pushed to you.

This "download now via usb" seems to be new for K3 as I remember everyone (including me

) chomping at the bit for the big K2 update to come OTA.

Do we all have the same number?

My K3 is jailbreaked and it has screen saver hack. Do I need to uninstall screen saver hack and uninstall jailbreak in order to install new firmware? Based on what NiLuJe said, I assume that I can then reinstall jailbreak and screen saver hack after I update?

That's my versionnumber as well,from a few weeks back when I downloaded the betaversion.
