Ever get an unfair negaive feedback on ebay? What to do?

Hi guys,

I've been here a while but never really post much in this forum. I just need a place to vent today. Since it is somewhat related to ereader I figure you guys can help me. So here's the story. I sold my Nook on ebay in time for the new K3 (which I loveee btw). I had a case, some skins, and a 3 years warranty from squaretrade with ADH that I clearly stated on my listing. I sold it maybe 3 weeks ago. I have been emailing the buyer before I transfer the warranty to her to make sure the name and address is correct. She never emailed me back on that but did email me later saying she didn't see the extended warranty. So I told her I was waiting for her to email me with the name and address. Anyway, I then transferred the warranty to the name and address and sent a separate email telling her an email from Square Trade is coming her way. I thought everything is settled so I asked her to leave me a feedback. Still didn't leave me a feedback but email me back saying she called B&N and she was told the warranty isn't being transferred. Okay..?? So apparently she still didn't get that the warranty isn't from BN but SQ. So I assumed maybe she meant standard warranty so I called BN for her asking about that. They said no you can't transfer the standard warranty so I emailed her back and told her unfortunately I can't do that for you but you don't have to worry about that because SQ will cover everything. I thought ok this time everything will be ok so I again ask her to leave me a feedback. She left me a feedback alright. The negative one saying I didn't transfer the warranty. I am so upset. She ruined my 100% positive feedback for no reason. I don't know if she can't understand English or don't understand how SQ works or maybe she didn't know what SQ email was for and deleted by accident. But seriously! I replied to the feedback saying I have proof that I did transfer the warranty which I do. I sent her an email saying I went way over and beyond to make sure her experience was a good one with her new Nook. I even forwarded the transfer confirmation email from SQ. I also emailed ebay and asked for feedback to be removed. I sell quite a bit of stuff on ebay and always have been a good ebayer so it is a big deal to me that a negative feedback is being left when it's not my fault.

Sorry for the long post. Question to you all now is - Is anything else I can do? Do you think ebay will remove the feedback if I have proof?

All you can do is try. Let eBay see the proof and hope they will remove the negative feedback. You did what you could to help her out and she's just not understanding.

A lot of us who use Ebay a lot take these kind of things into consideration when buying off of Ebay. If someone has a good history and a single negative transaction I usually assume something like this went down. It is when you see a pattern you have to worry.

I know it sucks but there really isnt too much you can do about it, I don't think.

From what I understand even if everything went 100% perfect I can leave a bad feedback comment for any reason that may have offended or effected or even slightly bothered me.

I don't use eBay, but I've bought from individual sellers on Amazon - and I've left the occasional negative feedback. In those cases, the seller was able to put a response to my comment - leaving the buyer to decide who was correct.

(In my case, their responses sounded defensive and childish, so I'm hoping the buyers will take my word for it. So if that IS something you can do, I'd also suggest that you write it carefully to sound reasonable and not childish or just ticked off).

Yea I just left it stating that I have proof to the warranty that has been transferred and that it was from SQ and not BN. Guess I'll wait and see what ebay has to say. Thanks for the advice all.

Ebay has already had their say-- in the FAQ:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...k-removal.html

The chances of them stepping in on this are very, very, very close to zero.
