PRS-900 Having trouble displaying manga

Hi,

I have a PRS-900 Sony Daily Edition and I've recently run into what seems to be a recurring issue. I have a lot of manga that I converted with Calibre into EPUB format, and while the book will load and begin displaying the pages, after awhile it will start to display blank pages instead of manga images.

At this point I will back out of the book and I'll get an error message stating that there was a read error with the memory/SD card the manga was loaded on and that my reading details could not be saved. If I then perform a shutdown and restart, I can read the book from the beginning, but eventually the problem will surface again.

I tried this in PDF format as well thinking it was the EPUB having difficulty with the large file sizes, but the problem is still occuring. It does not seem to affect any text books, so is there something with the Calibre software that could be causing this, or is Sony's software locking up reading these?

Any assistance is appreciated.

The only thing that comes to my mind is checking whether the original manga files had a mixture of different image formats. I had one with some .jpg and some .png and Calibre would convert one format properly and the other one into blank pages.

I appreciate the quick reply. I believe that many may be a mix of .png and .jpeg. If that's the case, it may be something like that, but sometimes the pages that come up blank load fine when I restart the device. When I converted it to pdf, one page was half rendered before it stopped loading the pages. I will investigate this.

If the mix of images is causing it, that adds another question, is there better conversion options than Calibre for manga? If it's some sort of code corruption in the file when it finishes due to the mix of images, I'd rather use a different program than go through all the volumes I have and convert the image type manually.

Also is there any firmware for the PRS-900 that may work more effectively?
