Don't pre-order!!!
Hi,
noticed the following when ordering two new books this week: 1) The Moral Landscape - Sam Harris, published in the US on 5th October. 2) Surface Detail - Iain M. Banks. published in the UK on 7th October. On the day of publication both eBooks were priced at almost double the Hardcover price, both dropped to a much more realistic level later in the day. Is this a case of price-gouging those who pre-order? Also my order from Germany to Amazon UK was blocked when I did the One-Click oder, with a message about buying from another county than the one I'm registered in (I use multiple Amazon accounts to order from the US and UK as I require). Went via a proxy, worked fine.
