Frankfurt Book Fair: jetBook mini

I just made several pictures of jetBook mini on Frankfurt Book fair. It will be available in Germany end of November.

How many colors did they show? How do they handle ePub?

They told me that price will be 99 Eur

They have 8 colors. You need download Calibre to convert non DRMed ePub to TXT or FB2.

Jeez that thing is small, its the closest thing to an actual book iv seen so far. I read it has the same size screen as the other jetBooks which is good enough for me. I wonder when they will start selling the other colors, i only see 2 on the website.

Did anyone else think that red one looked like a toy? More specifically, an etch-a-sketch on its side, but the packaging and color looks like something a toddler would play with.

Not sure if others have mentioned this or not, but it kinda reminds me of the Pocketbook 360, just no hard cover. I NEED one to play with!

The mini was so close to getting me to buy it... but the lack of support for ePub (converting with third party software doesn't count!) turned me off. At least the 360 has had a price drop that has put it back in contention as I look for a new reader.

Yes, they have many colors. I will try to make these pictures and maybe video tomorrow. I asked if they can sell blue color unit for $99 but they have only samples on the show

. I like "change hand feature" when you can rotate the screen for left and right hand.

LuBiB, see more pictures. I made the video but I cannot upload it here now because file is too big. They had green color unit yesterday but they don't have it today anymore. It looks like somebody purchased it for 99 Eur...

I really can't see a reader which appears to offer no support for commercial eBook formats being a success.

Same here. The lack of basic support for at least epub and pdf would be a great negative point...
