PRS 650 DOA

Well got home expecting to use my PRS 650 after letting it charge, and no luck the bottom half of the screen is unresponsive, it goes straight to the menu screen, and I can touch it all the way down to selecting Spanish in the language but nothing below that. Guess I am out a reader until the end of the month..

How did you charge it? Do you have a standalone charger (and if so, does the red light come on)? Or are you charging on the computer. I've read the computer must stay on for the charge-on-the-computer version to work.

It sounds like you were gone away - did the computer shut down or go into hibernate mode?

^ If the computer went into standby or hibernate while you were out, then it drained your reader. Give it a good overnight charge with the computer on and see if it works.

IT was showing fully charged, it comes on just the bottom half of the screen doesnt work no touch function so I cant get past the select language screen.

Just an update Sony finally found my reader 2 days ago, Apparently their computer system is in the middle of an upgrade and my work order got regenerated with a different serial number, Now I should have my new reader end of next week. I told the guy the whole reason I went ahead and bought the 650 was at the time it looked like the 950 was a month if not more off, but by the time I get the 650 back the 950 should be almost shipping. If this one shows up DOA like the first one then I might as well waited for the 950.
