ElectroSmog - WiFi and 3G
Are there any Anti-ElectroSmog shielding covers to combat ElectroSmog / electromagnetic radiation that it releases through WiFi and 3G?
Is there a way to double-monitor if the WiFi and 3G is really turned off and not just hope and rely on the software which could be an error/fault? |

Your Kindle wouldn't add much to what you're already exposed to. Get an earthing pad:

I'd trust that the Kindle is actually turning it off because otherwise your battery life would be substantially worse.
Get a regular AM radio. Put it next to the Kindle. Leave it for awhile and if you hear loud blipblipblip noises then the 3G part of the Kindle is on. There isn't really any easy quick method of testing for whether WiFi is actually disabled on the Kindle except by trusting the software. Considering the prevalence of radio usage on any populated continent, I'd say the effects if any from the Kindle would be minimal. I don't believe in this particular condition but eh believe what you want. Just don't buy any ludicrously expensive remedies, stickers or shields :P Last edited by Tiersten; 09-27-2010 at 07:12 PM. |

You can check the connection status of your kindle with the router it is connected to.
You can also try to "Ping" it from a normal computer if you want to test that (you need to know the IP-adress for that of course). Otherwise: I can tell you with much confidence that the Wifi is offline when deactivated. "Elektrosmog" is maybe a bit too harsh of a word, but it does exist, maybe it doesn't have the health issues some people like to associate with it but electromagnetic waves are radiated from every electronic device, especially one with an antenna. That all said: try not to think too much about electrosmog because that alone will create stress much greater than any electromagnetic wave your going to encounter in your daily live. |

Radio stations, TV stations, cell phone towers and power lines (outside and in your house) are all sources of EM that exceed that of typical WiFi connections.
If you really are worried about it (and I mean this sincerely), you need to cage your room/house. |

There are also ElectroSmog detectors that tell whether it is emitting this stuff or not?

Font,
If you really want to avoid Electrosmog, may I recommend a Faraday cage bed? http://depletedcranium.com/the-blog-...is-not-a-joke/ |
