Suggestion for duplicate handling
If it is not already there (and I've not seen it) or under development (ditto) may I suggest the following:
In some circumstances find duplicates might flag up items as duplicates that are either not direct duplicates or desirable duplicates. Would it be possible to have a flag one can set per book to effectively say do not consider this book in the duplicate search routine? |

The functionality you're asking for already exists. Run "Find Duplicates" to generate a list of duplicate books. Then click the small down arrow that is to the right of the Find Duplicates icon. There are several options that pertain to "exemptions" that allow you to include or exclude specific books or a set of books from a duplicates search. You can exempt (exclude) a book from the duplicate search and if you change your mind, you can remove the exemption (include) the book. Give it a try and see if it meets your needs. Holler back if you have any questions. Marty |

Why not just use the builtin:
Preferences(Icon): Get Plugins Last edited by theducks; 03-09-2013 at 10:14 AM. Reason: clairify which preference |

I assumed the OP would want to know what software does before installing it... I know I always do.
To me, Calibre->Preferences->Plugins->Get new plugin->Find Duplicates->Plugin Forum Thread (SixClicks minimum), seems to be a long winded way of getting to the same place on this forum as my, OneClick maximum, link. Besides, the OP maybe on the beach reading this thread on his phone or tablet, most of those gadgets don't/can't even have Calibre installed on them BR |

Thank you. Sorry for the late response. I was cleaning my mailboxes before vacation and this email alert went to spam. I will check it out as it wasn't as obvious as the nose on my face. Kind regards,
