Wired Article: E-paper's Killer App = Packaging
Thought this story might be of interest to mobilereaders... It seems the price of manufacturing electronic ink based product labels is coming down fast enough that we may be seeing a "revolution" in product labelling:
http://www.wired.com/gadgets/display.../2005/12/69839 "Miniature displays in color could appear on consumer-goods packaging, including medicine vials, in 2007, with a resolution of 80 dpi, Gerlt said. Three or more images could flash consecutively, creating a crude animation effect or cycling through multiple messages. By 2008, the resolution could double, said Gerlt." |

Wired is always a good read.
We keep thinking about e-paper in terms of dedicated readers, but there's a lot more applications for it. Packaging, advertising, identification cards etc... |
