copying to USB stick
I like to keep a copy of my files on a USB stick.
If I just copy them all it takes ages. Is there a way of setting copy options so that it doesn't replace everything but just replaces older ones and writes new ones - also I'd like to do this FROM the stick back to the pc. I copy the files so I can refer to them from any computer. |

Welcome to MR! There are "syncing" programs. I use Beyond Compare, there is Microsoft app called Synctoy that does it as well. But as far as I know there are no options on straight copying to do that sort of thing. |

SyncToy works superbly well; I thoroughly recommend it.

Randall,
Any decent backup utility will do this. I use SyncBack, which is excellent (see http://www.2brightsparks.com/). They have a free version which will do exactly what you want (albeit with a little effort on your part for the initial set-up). |
