Sharing books by email

Trying to set up Calibre to send books via email. Followed online tutorial which recommended created a GMX email account however in Calibre the test email fails. Additionally, when I click in Calibre the Connect/Share the gmx email is not listed. A current workaround I am using is to email books as an attachment however I would like to get this feature in Calibre working.

This would indicate some step missed in the email setup within calibre. Maybe if you run calibre in debug mode and post the log we can spot the error. One thing that does come to mind; I think that there is a setting on the GMX web site to enable use of SMTP for sending email.

Is there a target (line item) in preferences: sharing books by e-mail?

(I believe the test, just makes sure the SEND server is working)

Steps taken in gmx mail was to disable POP3 & IMAP in gmx and then renable. Next, in Calibre test email was again attempted successfully. However, when attempting to send book in calibre via email the connect/share icon does not display email. Since I am running calibre in ubuntu the following command in terminal twas used to update.

Calibre updated to 4.7 however option to share via email does not show in connect/share icon. Additionally Calibre crashed a few times in this process (see log below).

in Preferences (where you set almost all the defaults, as well as other stuff)

And now I see you are a Linux user. Please include needed details in your posts for help. include if you are using the CLI methods
