Free (Kindle/Kobo/iTunes CA) Red Ribbons [Award-Nom Irish Psych Doc vs Crime Mystery]
Red Ribbons by 2013 Best Irish Crime Novel-winner Louise Phillips (SYKM), is the 1st in her award-winning Dublin-set criminal profiler vs assorted serial killers psychological mystery/suspense thrillers starring Dr Kate Pearson, free courtesy of publisher Hachette Ireland.
This debut novel itself was also shortlisted for the Irish Book Awards' BICN award. Currently free for who knows how much longer @ Amazon, Kobo, iTunes & Google Play (all available only to Canadians, as far as I've been able to determine, as this edition seems to flat-out not exist in other countries' versions of the stores I can easily check). The actual BICN award-winner, The Doll's House, 2nd in the series, was also a freebie in multiple venues until sometime around Monday when I checked it to determine the priority posting queue, but has since expired from all the usual stores above though this one has remained free. However, you can still add TDH to your online reading library while it lasts @ BookShout, but there doesn't seem to be a non-app way to download it. And this has been the selected (finally by choice and not by suspected-rapidly-expiring-default) 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook alert thread of the day. Enjoy! Description A SERIAL KILLER. A missing schoolgirl is found buried in the Dublin Mountains, hands clasped together in prayer, two red ribbons in her hair. Twenty-four hours later, a second schoolgirl is found in a shallow grave - her body identically arranged. A hunt for the killer is on. THE CRIMINAL PSYCHOLOGIST. The police call in profiler Dr Kate Pearson to get inside the mind of the murderer before he strikes again. But the more Kate discovers about the killings, the more it all feels terrifyingly familiar. THE ACCUSED WOMAN. As the pressure to find the killer intensifies, there's one vital connection to be made - Ellie Brady, a mother institutionalised fifteen years earlier for the murder of her daughter Amy. She stopped talking when everyone stopped listening. What connects the death of Amy Brady to the murdered schoolgirls? As Kate Pearson begins to unravel the truth, danger is closer than she knows... The bad man is everywhere. Can you see him? Last edited by ATDrake; 08-23-2014 at 02:02 AM. Reason: Wrong letter in title acronym changes the meaningfulness of usage. I'd be terrible at leaving taunting Clues™ for the police. |
