I use Calibre Content Server to connect with CS on my devices; Just turn on Content Server, and then in CS on your device, type in the IP address shown in the Calibre menu for Content Server.
CS doesn't download your entire library of books, just the metadata for the library. You then have to select the books you want on your device, and download to your device. I use Calibre custom columns to identify different reading lists. In CS, you can then filter the Calibre library to show only the reading lists you want, select those books, then download to your device. I'm still learning how to use CS, but it seems to provide a useful interface to your Calibre library...much better than CC. |

I am really confused. I just downloaded my library to CS using Calibre content server. Now how do I sync my books? I need to send back to Calibre my read status. If I have added books in Calibre, I want them to appear in my CS library. If I have modified the metatdata in Calibre I am hoping that that will show up on my phone and tablet. I don't believe that just starting Calibre's content server will do all that. HELP.

I assume you mean you downloaded your library metadata; e.g., titles, etc., but NOT the actual book file? Anything you update in Calibre will sync to CS; you'll need to refresh using the refresh circle at the top right hand side of CS.
Unfortunately I don't believe CS will sync back to Calibre, although I could be wrong about that. |

How have I missed this app? £4.99 well spent, by the look of things. Being able to see what books I have and which I've read on-the-go is brilliant. That it looks good and has good status info is great. Being able to sync read status from my iphone back to calibre is amazing.
I hope in use it lives up to its promise. |

So far so good. I've even got the two-way sync of read status set up. (I already had appropriate columns in my calibre library, which helped.)
I did find that there were around 10 books that I'd marked read but not given a date to - because they all got given today's date on sync. So I just changed them all to have an obviously wrong read date well in the past. |

I have used Calibre Sync for some time now but I can no longer get my books from Calibre. I have tried disabling my firewall and antivirus, reinstalled Calibre, checked that Calibre content server is working and updated both apps. I have also tried wireless connection and that doesn't work.
I would appreciate any advice. Thank you. |

I don't want to delete it from my full library on my computer. I just don't want it on my phone at all anymore. I know that I can just look at unread books and it won't show but I would really like to be able to delete one book completely.

I doubt that there's a way to achieve this. It would seem to be counter to the basic concept of calibre sync.
