Kindlets are working on KT3
Hi everybody,
it seems that all the sudden Kindlets are working on my KT3! - BIG surprise for me was trying KUAL Kindlet.....working perfectly! - I was able to compile the tic tac toe sources so they work fine on my KT3. - as far as other Kindlets go, i found that calculator works fine out of the box. It seems that other Kindlets just have a syntax problem...but that is just an assumption for now after looking a little at the references and code available. I'm really interested in what they changed (especially without even noticing it, lib update maybe?), so if anybody could enlighten me on that part i'd apreciate it. I tried the Kindlets anyway in the beginning and i know they didnt work. Anyhow i searched the forum for clues but it seems that this is not known yet. (except @nasser i guess) If this information already exist and IS know, i apologise for the worthless post. greets wodan |

You can find that information in Settings -> Device Info. The build number is that one in parans. |

Here ya go...
Kindle Basic 2 aka KT3 G000K9 Firmware: 5.8.2.1 (304566001) There is one post of nasser i found, saying that his KT3 as well runs calc Kindlet. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=277220 So it looks like it's not just the factory image that is Kindlet enabled. He might chime in here. wodan |

They do not always get all changes included in every build. For instance: That is why the PW1 can still be downgraded, they forgot the "Downgrade Attack" prevention change in its firmware build system. Translation: Spastic development management. |

Well....lets see.
This attachment is the Tic Tac Toe i compiled, to try it out. From my Netbeans setup i know one thing for sure already : You have to compile max. with JDK 6. And i had to turn of Classpath for it to work. JDK 7 is not working for me so far. And i should mention that i compiled with the Kindlet-2.2 lib. The azw2 of tictactoe is compiled with JDK 1.4 for testing and playing around. The credits for Tic Tac Toe go to matthias. The wodan of the cover was just trying to figure out where it prefers to pull the name.(Netbeans config or Manifest) I change that to matthias if needed....well it was a prof of concept. wodan |
