"stop powerd" turns off backlight. Can I force it back?

Hi,

I use
Code:
stop powerd
to prevent the auto-sleep function from turning the kindle off, but it turns off the backlight as well.

Is there is a way to have auto-sleep off and the backlight on? Device is permanently connected to power.

This is one a Kindle PW3:
Code:
# uname -a
Linux kindle 3.0.35-lab126 #2 PREEMPT Wed May 4 18:14:12 UTC 2022 armv7l GNU/Linux
Code:
]# cat /etc/version.txt
System Software Version: 001-juno_14030001_muscat_wario-383860
Wed May 4 20:10:46 UTC 2022
com.lab126.eink.muscat.os
Code:
[root@kindle ]# cat /etc/prettyversion.txt
Kindle 5.14.3.0.1 (~~otaVersion~~)

Read that:

So, either use the KUAL extension or run the LIPC command yourself:

Code:
lipc-set-prop com.lab126.powerd preventScreenSaver 1

That is great, thanks. Indeed, running the command works exactly as expected. Cheers!
