Thanks. The problem was that some of the output appeared to be in the wrong order. For example, I would have expected the errors from loading the DRM plugin to be earlier in the log. And the error from this plugin to be the last thing in the output. That's what I see, but, I also run from source. I think the order of the log statements are from running in debug mode and when the different output buffers are written to the actual log. A little confusing, but, OK in the end.

Is there any way to save/restore the font settings for specific books? Every time I update a fanfic (treat as new book in KoboTouchExtended), it resets it to default. I've just been manually fixing it with set font but sometimes I forget the exact settings.

I don't have anything to do that. And it can only happen after the book has been imported to the device. You would have to connect again.

I noticed that the "Update metadata in device library" includes a checkbox for "language", but despite ticking that box, a sideloaded book whose metadata I had updated in Calibre to show "English, Urdu" did not update "number of unchanged books: 1", and indeed, after 2 attempts, a check of the "details" tab shows the entry "Language: English" What am I doing wrong?

The device can only handle one language for book. And the plugin will only be using the first language.

Excellent, that means the answer to my question is "nothing" - a rare treat!

Hey davidfor,

Did anything jump out you at the log I sent you regarding the book that refuses to go away when I connect my Kobo?

Sorry, I forgot about that. The log helped a little. But, mainly to show me what I had forgotten to log. The attached beta adds the but I missed. Can you:

- Try it and let the book updated.
- Then try again.

I want to see if there is a difference between these.

I sent a link to the log to you in a private message. I started Calibre. Updated the book. Restarted in debug mode, and updated the book again. This is the resulting log.

If I'm reading the log correctly, the first entry is the Calibre portion, and the second is the Kobo portion? They all seem to match. Two oddities from my quick perusal, they are probably meaningless.
1) Current reading location for the book does not include a #kobo1.1 at the end, which every other book that has a reading position seems to have.
2) In the logs the percent read is 99%, but in Calibre it is listed at 100%, and on the Kobo it is listed as Read.

Thanks for looking into it!

I ran into a corrupted database issue. I have it set to back up and I can find the back up but how exactly do I restore it?

Just copy the SQLite file to the .kobo directory of the device to replace the one that is there. And when you disconnect, restart the device quickly. That is to ensure the replacement database is read properly.

For the book you were having problems with, the log shows:

Code:
	DEBUG: 0.2 _store_bookmarks - current_chapterid ='OEBPS/Bluff.xhtml'
	DEBUG: 0.2 _store_bookmarks - new_chapterid='None'
The first one is what is in the library and the second on the device. I think you marked the book as finished on the device without opening it. In any case, I am not handling this properly. Both when it is getting the location from the device, and then later when it updates the library. But, I should be able to reproduce this and fix it.

For the "#kobo.1.1" or other numbers, is used for kepub. For an epubs, it will look like "#point(/1/4/208/1:52)". And if it is finished, the chapter stored should be the start of the book without this. Both of these indicate the first character on the page you were up to. For kepubs, it is basically tag, sentence and number of character. For epubs, it is tag with the number of characters into the tag.

"#kobo.1.1" means the reading location is the start of an internal file which is usually the start of a chapter. For epubs, the chapter start should look like "#point(/1/4/2/1:0)".

The plugin takes care of this. For epubs, the device doesn't update the percent read to 100 percent when you finish the book. If the device says the book is finished, the plugin will always use 100%.

Beta - fetch problems and setting time

Attached is a beta that should fix the problems fetching the reading status that @pricciar has reported. The problem is partly due to the changes needed for Python 3, and some resulting bad logic in working out what had changed. I'm pretty sure this will fix that issue.

The other change in this beta is to add a way to set the time on the device. Tha Kobo desktop application writes a file names "epoch.conf" on the device when it ejects the device. This contains the current time and the device sets the time from this after it is ejected. This is not really needed if WiFi is used. The deivce will sync the time when it is connected WiFi is connected.

The function "Set time on device" will do the same as the desktop application. It writes the time when the function is used to the file. If you eject the device immediately after using this, the time on the device will be reasonably accurate.

As usual, if there are any problems, please report them here.
